Though a proposal is a prerequisite for almost every session, I book (hey, I’m an engagement and wedding photographer, after all!), I seldom present for the actual question popping! You can imagine my giddiness every time I get a call to photograph a proposal, then – I feel like I’m on a secret mission in the name of love!
My session with Rich and Christine started out with Rich reaching out to me to see if I’d be able to help him pull this surprise proposal off. (The answer to this is always yes, by the way). Then he proceeded to explain how it would all go down; Rich originally had another location planned but then decided two days before changing the place, which led us to Stella Hope in New Hope, Pa. So they would be having lunch there & the location was perfect!
Finally, the moment I was waiting for was when I spotted Rich & Christine leaving Stella Hope, and I started capturing away as they were walking to this beautiful tree; before you know it, Rich got down on one knee, and Christine was shocked; she couldn’t stop smiling, and of course, she said YES!
Rich did such an excellent job of orchestrating this whole thing and keeping it a secret from Christine, making one of the most genuine and sweetest proposals! Not to mention the ring is gorgeous!
