Vendor Use Guidelines (for weddings or styled shoots)

For collaborations with florists, venues, or dress designers. Vendors or creative collaborators wishing to use images must:

  • Credit Debra Heschl Photography in all uses
  • Include a clickable link when published online
  • Request high-resolution files directly from me—do not screenshot or crop

Watermark Policy
Client galleries include high-resolution, unwatermarked images for download.
Watermarks may appear on previews, blogs, or social media posts to protect copyrighted work.

Image Delivery & Retention Policy

After your session, your final edited images will be delivered via an online gallery within the agreed-upon turnaround time (typically 2–3 weeks unless otherwise stated in your contract).

Your gallery will remain active for 10 days from the delivery date. During this time, you are encouraged to:

  • Download all high-resolution files
  • Back up your images to your own device or cloud service
  • Place any print orders you wish to make

After 10 days, the gallery may be archived or removed, and reactivation will require a $50 fee.

I highly recommend backing up your images as soon as possible to ensure you have long-term access.

Please note that while I do my best to retain files, I cannot guarantee long-term storage of galleries beyond the initial active period unless otherwise agreed upon in your contract.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Copyright is a legal protection that gives the creator of an original work, such as a photograph. Tthe exclusive right to use, share, reproduce, and control how that work is used. As the photographer, I automatically own the copyright to every image I create, even if you’ve purchased a session or received digital files. This means that while you may enjoy your images for personal use, the right to edit, sell, or use them commercially remains with me unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Copyright helps protect the integrity of creative work and ensures it is used respectfully and legally.

That’s a great question! When you hire a photographer, you’re paying for their time, talent, and the final edited images, not the copyright. Just like purchasing a book or a song doesn’t mean you own the rights to reproduce or resell it, the same applies to photography. As the creator, I retain the copyright to all images, unless we’ve signed a specific agreement transferring ownership. However, you receive a personal-use license to enjoy, share, and print your images.

You’re absolutely welcome (and encouraged!) to share your photos on social media! When doing so, I kindly ask that you do not crop, filter, or alter the images in any way. Please credit me as the photographer by tagging @DebraHeschlPhotography and/or linking to my website or social handle when possible. This not only honors the work but helps others find and support small businesses like mine. Thank you for sharing responsibly!
