I have always enjoyed photographing weddings. There’s so much love in the air, and the bride and groom spent so much time carefully planning all the details. It was not any different for Alanna & Nathanial’s wedding, either!
Alanna & Nathaniel’s wedding held at the Belle of Blue Bell could not have been more flawless. Every detail was carefully planned to perfection.
If you remember, I captured Alanna & Nathanial Engagement/Family session a few months prior to their wedding. I knew then, that their wedding would be perfect. They are the loveliest couple and their boys are so adorable too!
The wedding went off without a hitch & it was flawless, partly to Alanna, who did her own wedding planning. She planned the most perfect and fantastic day.
The wedding and reception were at Belle of Blue Bell and were catered by Belle. They danced to their first song, “One Call Away” by Charlie Puth, which DJ Gerry Kelly played.
A few more people that helped their wedding go off without a hitch was:
Cake Maker: Chef Sam of the Farmer’s Daughter Where was the Dress Purchased: David’s Bridal Caterer: Belle of Blue Bell Florist: Willow & Thistle
Here are a few questions I asked Alanna!
Q: How did you two meet?
A: We worked at Applebee’s together
Q: How did Nate propose?
A: He tried to surprise me after a girls’ night out….but I stayed out a little later than expected…oops, lol So our boys wouldn’t spoil the surprise when they woke up the next morning, he asked me outside on our balcony when I got home.
Q: What were your favorite moments from the wedding?
A: Honestly, the ceremony was my favorite when I finally got to see Nate! I missed him all day <3
Q: How long have you been together?
A: 10 amazing years <3
Q: How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
A: It was wonderful, stressful at times, of course, but I loved every minute of it!
Q: What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
A: Try and relax. Remember, this day is about you & your spouse! Don’t worry about what everyone else is going to want, make the day about what you want! Do what makes you happy!! Remember it is YOUR day!
Q: What photography-related advice would you offer to a couple?
A: Be yourself!! And breathe 🙂
Q: Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one?
A: I knew as soon as I tried it on before I even saw what it looked like; it was just so comfortable!!! And then, of course, I walked out, and everyone was in tears!
Q: How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day?
A: Amazing!! Dusty (Debra), you made everything so comfortable & easy!!! I could not have chosen a better person!!! You have the best heart and excel in everything you do!
Q: Did you see each other before the wedding? If not, did you like waiting, or would you have instead done it differently? Tell me why or why not!
A: We did not do the first look. I am glad we did not, it was more exciting seeing each other at the ceremony, it made everything more special!!
Q: Any tips on how to prepare for the wedding photos?
A: Have an idea of what you want & where, and a general timeline.
Q: Any tips about preparing your wedding party for the photos? What did you tell them, how did you get them to cooperate, what did you do, or what would you have done differently?
A: Honestly, I really didn’t have to say much, I was just like, be ready, girls lol, and they were 🙂
Q: Any tips on what to bring?
A: Touch makeup & a mirror
Q: Did you find a store/site that had everything you were looking for? Use this space to talk about favorite shops. For example, you can include where you got your dress, places you got your veils/décor/accessories, etc.
A: The Knot.com!!! I did almost EVERYTHING on there!!
Q: What were you most anxious, nervous, or fearful about your wedding day, and what was the outcome?
A: I was just really EXCITED for the day to finally happen! I was not nervous at all!!
Q: What’s one piece of advice you would give to other couples for planning their wedding?
A: Try and start early so you can take your time to plan for exactly what you want, do not try to rush, or you will stress yourself out!!
Q: Have you had any prior sessions? If so, what type, and where?
A: Engagement/Family session at the Harriton House in Bryn Mawr with Dusty (Debra)
Q: What kind of food was served at your reception?
A: There was SO much food!!! But it was pretty standard chicken, beef, fish & pasta but with all the sides and salads. 🙂
Q: What was the first song you danced to as husband and wife? Father-daughter dance? Other-son dance?
A: The first dance with Nate was “One Call Away” by Charlie Puth, The Mother & Son Dance was “The Perfect Fan” by the Backstreet Boys
You could tell they were having the time of their lives and loving every minute of the beautiful day surrounded by family & friends who loved them!
As for me, one of my favorite moments of the wedding was when I was capturing Alanna on the vintage red couch. My assistant Lizz saw it in the little old cottage & we pulled it out in front of the cottage. It was perfect for Alanna; she looked stunning. Another favorite moment was when Alanna & Nate were walking along the pond & Alanna looked over at Nate. You could see the love between the two.
Okay, enough talk. Look how beautiful this couple is and not to mention how cute their boys are, oh and the flower girls are just so darling too!
oh, and the details…they could not have been more perfect!
Alanna’s wedding dress was absolutely stunning!
