I am so happy you are here in my little corner.

Welcome to the DHP family! I’m thrilled you’re here and look forward to sharing my world of photography, creativity, and everyday inspiration with you.

Here is a little info about me to get you started!

Photography has been such a meaningful part of my life for over 20 years, and every day I count my blessings to be able to do what I love: capture beautiful moments and work with incredible clients. I’m excited to share content that inspires and helps you along the way!

The most important thing I can tell you about myself—besides the fact that I take a lot of photos (seriously, a lot!)—is that I’m a mother, wife, grandmother, and animal lover. Family means everything to me, and that connection inspires much of my work.

A Few Fun Facts About Me

One thing I do have to warn you about, though, is that I’m a coffee lover and a music enthusiast! Most times, you’ll find me rocking out to Southern Rock — especially my all-time favorite band, Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  • I don’t like to be barefoot.
  • I’m a huge animal lover.
  • I was born with cataracts in both eyes and had them removed in 1997 and again in 1998.
  • I’m the oldest of 5 siblings.

When I’m not behind the camera or spending time with my wonderful family, you’ll usually find me working on projects around our 1885 home and decorating it with antiques and thrifted treasures.

How I Got My Nickname “Dusty”

Some people still call me by my childhood nickname, “Dusty.”
When I was about 3 or 4 years old, I loved playing outside and getting messy. No matter how many times my mama bathed me, I’d be covered in dirt again within minutes! The name “Dusty” stuck — and it’s been with me ever since.
